Developing a high-performance tire means subjecting it to extreme conditions, collecting data, analyzing every aspect of its performance, and fine-tuning the details. It is a process that combines technology, research, and extremely precise hands-on work.
It is in this context that the collaboration between SEL and Pirelli continues this year at the Technical Center in Nardò, Puglia, where our team supports testing activities dedicated to tire development.
Working alongside Pirelli’s technicians, SEL handles the various operational phases related to tire management during testing: from mounting and dismounting to balancing, as well as inspections and preparing the cars for subsequent test sessions.
Whether on the road or on the track, every operation must be performed with precision and speed. Test sessions require meticulous organization and the ability to respond quickly, adapting to varying conditions and testing requirements.
The continuity of this collaboration has allowed SEL to consolidate specific expertise over time in a highly specialized environment. This experience has also extended to projects focused on tires for trucks and motorcycles, enabling the team to engage with different applications, technologies, and testing methods.
The work carried out in Nardò thus represents an important part of SEL’s experience in the world of automotive testing: an activity that takes place behind the scenes but requires expertise, precision, and reliability at every stage.
